Sell Dior Saddle
SELL YOUR Dior Saddle for Cash in Brooklyn, NYC
The Saddle is two different bags commercially, and which one you have changes everything about the offer. John Galliano designed it in 1999 and it defined the era. Maria Grazia Chiuri revived it in 2018, and the revival is the version most people own.
The original Galliano-era pieces are a genuine vintage market. Denim, embroidered, logo-printed and the more extreme early designs have their own collectors, and condition expectations there are quite different — buyers of a 2001 Saddle accept wear that would be disqualifying on a modern one.
The 2018-onward bags trade on the Oblique jacquard above everything else. It is the most recognisable version and the most liquid. Calfskin Saddles are beautiful and sell more slowly, which is worth knowing before you set your expectations.

What Moves The Number
WHAT YOUR Offer DEPENDS ON
Galliano era or modern
The first thing we establish. The original run is a vintage collectors' market with its own condition standards and its own buyers. The 2018 revival is a contemporary resale market. They are priced on entirely different logic and conflating them is the most common mistake sellers make.
Oblique against leather
On modern Saddles, the Oblique jacquard is the version the market wants and it moves fastest. Calfskin is arguably the better-made bag and takes longer to place. Our offer reflects liquidity, not craftsmanship.
Flap edge and strap glazing
The curved flap is the shape of the bag and its leading edge meets the body every time it closes, so it scuffs. The painted glazing on the strap edges cracks with use. Both are visible and neither restores convincingly.
The D charm and hardware
The hanging D and the antique-finish hardware rub against the flap constantly. Plating loss on the D is common. A missing charm on a bag this recognisable is immediately obvious.

FAQs
DIOR SADDLE Questions
Is my old Galliano Saddle from the 2000s worth anything?
Often a great deal, yes. The original run has a real collectors' market and the more distinctive early designs — denim, embroidered, heavy logo prints — can be worth well beyond what people expect from a bag that age. Condition standards there are also more forgiving than on modern pieces.
Is the Oblique canvas worth more than leather?
On modern Saddles, generally yes — not because it is better made but because it is the version buyers ask for. Calfskin Saddles are excellent bags that simply take longer to sell, and our offer reflects that difference in liquidity.
My strap glazing is cracking. Does that matter?
It affects the tier but it is common and expected on this bag. Bring it as it is rather than attempting a repair — home glazing touch-ups are visible and make the bag harder to price, not easier.
Will you buy a Saddle without the shoulder strap?
Yes, though the strap has real independent value and its absence is noticeable. If you still have it, even worn, bring it with the bag.
