Is a PS5 Pro worth much more than a standard PS5?
Yes, clearly. The Pro is a distinctly more powerful machine and its buyers are shopping for it specifically rather than comparing it against a base console. That keeps a firm gap between the two on the used market.
My controller has stick drift. Is it worthless?
No — bring it. Drift is the most common DualSense fault and it is repairable, so a drifting pad still carries value. What you should not do is throw it away and sell the console bare; you are better off handing us both.
Do I need to deactivate my account first?
Please do. Go into Account Management on the console and deactivate it as your primary system, then perform a full factory reset. Otherwise the console stays tied to your library, which limits the next owner.
Is the Digital Edition harder to sell?
Not harder, just worth less. Without a disc drive the buyer cannot use second-hand games, which is a big part of why people buy a console used in the first place. It still sells readily, at a lower number.
When is the best time of year to sell a PS5?
Autumn into the holiday season, when demand for gift hardware peaks. Spring is typically the softest window. Sony's own price changes also move the used market within a few weeks, so it pays to sell when new prices are high.
