Controllers included
Controllers are expensive to buy separately, so a console that comes with two working pads is worth more than the same console with one. Bring every controller you own, including the ones with drift.
Stick drift and wear
The most common console fault we see. We test both sticks on every controller. Drift does not make a controller worthless, but it is a repair and it is priced as one.
Disc drive versus digital
Disc-drive models consistently fetch more, because the buyer can use a used-game library. On PS5 the drive is a separately purchasable module, which makes a disc console worth more than the price difference suggests.
Seasonal demand
Console values climb into the holiday season and soften in spring. If you are not in a hurry, autumn is the better window.

GAME CONSOLES Questions
Do I need the original box?
Not at all, though it helps on sealed or near-mint units where the buyer is a collector or buying a gift. For a used console that has been in the living room for two years, the box makes very little difference.
Should I factory reset the console first?
Yes please. Deactivate the console as your primary system in your account settings, then run the full factory reset. On PlayStation and Xbox, leaving the console tied to your account limits what the next owner can do with it.
Will you buy a console with a broken disc drive?
We will. On a PS5 the drive is a separate module that can be replaced, so a drive fault is a repair rather than a write-off. On other platforms it lowers the value more, but the console is still worth bringing in.
Do you buy games as well as hardware?
Yes — discs, cartridges and sealed copies. Bring the collection with the console and we will make one offer on the lot, which is usually simpler for everyone than splitting it up.
