Which MacBook Air holds its value best?
Apple silicon models, without question, and within those the machines with more than base storage. The M-series Airs have held value better than most laptops on the market because they still feel fast years after release.
Should I upgrade the storage before selling to get more?
You cannot. On every Apple silicon Air the SSD is soldered to the logic board. Whatever configuration you bought is what the machine will always be, which is exactly why the larger configurations are worth more.
My old Air is the wedge-shaped one. Is it worth anything?
Some, though not much. Those are Intel machines that have dropped off Apple's macOS support list. They still sell for light use, but the value only goes down from here, so if it is sitting in a closet it is worth bringing in now.
Do you buy MacBook Airs that will not turn on?
